The Information Systems of the University of Turin is responsible for IT activities, including the supply information services, the management of databases and applications, the management of network infrastructure and security, the management of Central Administration work stations.

CMDBuild was identified as an information system to support all these activities.

CMDBuild application would support technical staff in the management of IT assets supplied to the Central Administration and handle related control processes.

The contract was managed in collaboration with Cogitek, responsible for the analysis and formalization of the ITIL processes.

The activities led to a wider use of CMDBuild also in offices outside the ITC.

Activities

We provided the following services:

  • support for CMDBuild installation and configuration, including additional components
  • data model analysis and configuration
  • initial data import (personnel, locations, departments, cost centers, suppliers, assets like client, server systems, network devices)
  • custom report design and configuration
  • configuration of an ITIL Incident Management workflow
  • configuration of an ITIL Request Fulfillment with related Work Orders
  • configuration of a workflow for asset handling (load, assignment,  transfer, return, disposal, scrapping)
  • connector configuration to synchronize CMDBuild and OCS Inventory
  • configuration of a connector for automatic synchronization of personnel data
  • LDAP / AD authentication
  • training and support activities
  • configuration of a workflow to assign tasks to teachers, technical and administrative staff
