Requirements
CMDBuild has been installed at the ABI office in Rome (Italian Banking Association) as part of a project activated in 2008.
The aim of the project was to control the servers of the data processing center and the related network equipment but then it was planned to manage also desktop computers used by the staff.
This "extension" has been configured over the next few months, along with other activities including the integration of Zenworks (automatic inventory) for automatic updates.
All these activities led a wider use of CMDBuild also to offices outside the ITC; we designed also a workflow to activate a new workstation.

Activities
We provided the following services:
- virtual machine with all the required components
- data model analysis and configuration
- initial data import for Server e Networking areas
- training and support activities
- data model extension to manage customers computers (PdL) and related devices
- initial import of PdL and Staff data, available in Microsoft Access format
- data model extension to manage available services, related to technical services and SLA
- data model extension to manage system administrators and related roles, as required by the DPSS (Documento Programmatico per la Sicurezza)
- configuration of a connector to synchronize CMDBuild data and Zenworks data
- workflow configuration for the activation of new positions, with the participation of Resources Development, Personnel, Cost Accounting, Purchasing Logistics, Automation offices (used in non-IT)
- annual maintenance service
