Work in progress

We've released some 2.1 intermediate versions awaiting the next 2.2 release planned for the end of April.

At the end of December we've released the 2.1.6 version, with the ability to send mails with attached files (that can be loaded from your file system or from Alfresco document repository) during the workflow and with an improvement of the user interface for report execution from the navigation menu.

We are now working for the next 2.1.7 release, which will be available in the coming days and that will include a new widget to start a workflow from a normal data card, in addition to some bug fixing reported by users.

Rome, February 26: CMDBuild at the event organized by SUSE

SUSE, one of the most popular Linux distributors, has chosen CMDBuild for the first edition of the event "Open Source for Real !".

At the meeting, that will be held in Rome on February 26, are participating Tecnoteca and two other companies active in the open source market: EnterpriseDB and WSO2.

Tecnoteca will present the case study entitled "CMDBuild, an OS tool for IT management. Data modeling, process management and interoperability solutions. At the same time Tecnoteca will briefly present also openMAINT, the new open source software for Facility Management derived from CMDBuild.

On Suse website it's available the full agenda of the day.

The meeting will be held at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Rome Eur, Massimiliamo Massimo 15.

All the people that currently use or are interested in learning CMDBuild are invited to this event.

Available the on-line demo of openMAINT

While waiting for the public release, scheduled for the end of April and coinciding with the release of CMDBuild 2.2, we've published the on-line demo of openMAINT.

To use the demo you need to request an account using the form published on the official website.

openMAINT is an open source solution implemented on top of the asset management framework CMDBuild and dedicated to the Property & Facility Management; openMAINT offers asset (movable and immovable property) inventory and management of related maintenance activities, logistical and economic maintenance.

Unlike CMDBuild, openMAINT will be a product ready for use, with a configured database, processes, reports and dashboards.

Thanks to the features inherited from CMDBuild users can also customize the standard configuration integrating business-specific elements.

To assist those who will use the demo we prepared a Quick Guide with texts, images and videos.

CMDBuild in Action

A new CMDBuild installation is being set up in Genova at Datasiel SPA, the computer company of the Liguria region.

Datasiel, through a request for proposal, has choosed the provider that will support their staff  in the renewal of the internal CMDB, and this renewal will be carried out using the open source platform CMDBuild.

New infrastructures for new services

From the beginning of January Tecnoteca, maintainer of CMDBuild and openMAINT, finally have internet connectivity via fiber optic cable.

This new infrastructure will deliver higher connection quality and improve the remote services already offered to both Italian and foreign customers: training, consulting, troubleshooting using remote access to users who have subscribed to the maintenance service.

The high-speed connection with optical fiber will also launch new services to reach an increase the number of customers.
